Stay is a 24/7/365 daycare and boarding facility in Cleveland, OH. Amy Forrester and her friend Noreen first came up with the idea in 2015, and a year later, Sara Scheuer joined the effort to help make it a reality. Stay uses specially designed K9Grass, which offers dogs all the fun of outdoors with the comfort of staying inside. Each play area has a webcam that allows you to check in on your pup. You can also purchase one-on-one play time or cuddles, as well as scent games and dog-friendly ice cream. Additionally, retain the fun memories of your dog’s time in boarding through a personalized $20 photo book.
Preboarding Requirements: All dogs must be at least 12 weeks old, and all dogs older than 7 months must be neutered or spayed. Additionally, dogs must be current on their Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations.
A full-day stay costs $40, though you can buy an 18-hour day for $33. Reservations can be booked online, and you can contact Stay online or via phone.
2. Homedog Resort and Daycare
Located in Columbus, OH, Homedog prides itself on providing all-inclusive boarding; dogs aren’t kept in crates, and services that usually cost extra, like daycare and a nightly treat, are included in regular pricing. Furthermore, dogs are given individualized schedules. If your dog prefers playtime, he’ll be put in more playgroups, and if he likes to rest, he’ll be provided some well-deserved quiet time.
Preboarding Requirements: Homedog requires an assessment before a dog’s first stay. They also require flea and tick preventatives, heartworm medication, and the following vaccinations: Canine Influenza, Distemper/Parvo, Rabies, and Bordetella.

3. Buddy Boarding
Nestled in Cincinnati, OH, Buddy Boarding is an 8-acre farm where your dog can play fetch, go on pack walks, and more. Started by Nick and Carly in 2015, the farm focuses on providing fun and personalized care. Based on your dog’s size and energy, he’s be put into a playgroup of between 2 and 25 dogs. And when he’s all tuckered out, he can have a nice, relaxing soak in the kiddie pool. Plus, Buddy Boarding provides “taxi services” to the vet, groomer, and even your home.
Preboarding Requirements: All dogs at Buddy’s must present paperwork showing they’re current on vaccinations. They must also pass a temperament test.

4. Downtown Akron Doggies
Downtown Akron Doggies opened in 2015, and it’s been providing quality, specialized care ever since. Older dogs are treated to unique playtime opportunities, and all dogs are given access to playground equipment. Staff is willing to take special requests, such as letting your dog’s cat-sibling become part of the “Woof Pack” and spend the night.
Preboarding Requirements: All pets must be at least 12 weeks old and spayed/neutered. Owners must submit proof of DHLLP, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines.
It costs $37 a day to board at Downtown Akron. Reservations are required, so make sure to contact them in advance.
5. Town & Country Kennel
Founded in Cincinnati, OH in 1987, Town & Country Kennel and Cattery caters to both dogs and cats. It contains over 60 outdoor/indoor kennels across 10 acres of land. You can purchase a variety of medical services, from insulin shots to bandage changes, as well as fun add-ons like nature walks. And each visit, you’ll receive a “report card” detailing your dog’s stay—we’re certain he’ll get all A’s.
Preboarding Requirements: Make sure to bring a copy of your dog’s shot records and to let staff know of any medical needs.

6. Puptown Lounge
Cliff and Sarah are the co-owners of Puptown Lounge, and they don’t just run the business—they also work there. Located in Columbus, OH, Puptown Lounge’s boarding packages include four daily bathroom breaks, play time, and two feedings a day. For an additional price, you can purchase fun walks by the river that lead to a park, daycare services, and nail trims/grooming.
Preboarding Requirements: All dogs must be current on their Distemper, Bordetella, Rabies, and Canine Influenza shots. Owners must also fill out a client profile.

7. Toledo Pet Farm
Toledo Pet Farm is the largest boarding facility in Toledo. Its 4-acres contain a 10 thousand sq. ft. agility course, a private pond, and an outdoor pet pool. Inside, dogs can enjoy treadmills, hydro-massage spa treatments, and individualized playtime with staff members. All suites include heated floors, and “top dog” suites come with TVs. Your cat can also stay in an “aristo-cat” suite, where they can play with cat-trees or watch fish swim in an electronic aquarium.
Preboarding Requirements: Dogs must be up-to-date on Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella shots. Cats must be current on Rabies and FVRCP.

8. VCA Holly Farms Animal Hospital
VCA Holly Farms Animal Hospital is located in Toledo, OH. Along with your dog, you can send your cat, who will appreciate the hospital’s cleanliness. Each kennel is climate-controlled, and dogs go for walks three times daily. You can also sign your pup up for a daily exercise program, which veterinarians will tailor to meet his specific needs. 9. Karnik Pet Lodge
Operational since 1973 and located in Toledo, OH, Karnik Pet Lodge has the tools and experience to take exceptional care of your pet. If you’re in Cincinnati, your pet will love a stay at Red Dog Pet Resort and Spa. Founded in 2007 by Raymond Schneider, Red Dog aims to provide all pets with a five-star experience. There are a variety of boarding choices, including rooms with outdoor patios, music, and TVs. Plus, each dog is offered fresh, diet-conforming foods and access to in-house veterinary services six times a week.
Preboarding Requirements: Documentation for vaccinations—Rabies, Bordetella, and Distemper–must be submitted two to ten days in advance.

11. Camp Bow Wow
Recipient of numerous awards and accolades since its founding in 2000, Camp Bow Wow in Columbus, OH is a premiere dog daycare and boarding facility. Staff members—also called camp counselors—are trained in CPR and first aid. All dogs are provided with plenty of TLC and nightly “campfire” treats as part of their camp-themed stay. These “campers” receive their first day free, and mom and dad can tune in over web camera to watch their pups run around in spacious, climate-controlled playrooms.

For an extra $10, you can also send your dog home with a staff member, who will make sure they’re comfortable and cared for overnight.
Preboarding Requirements: Owners must bring updated vaccination records for Hepatitis, Distemper, Bordetella, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus, and Rabies. Additionally, dogs must take monthly heartworm preventatives and be flea-free, and owners need to fill out a Health Agreement and New Dog Paperwork.
