1. Out of the Dog House
With over 20 years of experience in taking care of dogs, Out of the Dog House is the place you can safely leave your dog at, either for just a day or longer. Based in the owner’s home, you can be sure that your pet will receive the usual love, comfort and attention even when you’re not there. The place is fully insured and licenced for home boarding services, offering a temporary, but family-like environment for dogs. Apart from home boarding, Out of the Dog House also provide daycare and occasional group dog walking to meet all of your requirements. As oppose to one-on-one walks, that initiative enables your dog to play and socialise with others in a safe, outdoor environment. For your comfort, collection and drop-off can be arranged. Concerned owners can always ask for photo and video updates of their pet’s fun time spent at Out of the Dog House.
40 minutes of group dog walking is only £12. A 10h daycare costs £15, and boarding for one night – £20.
Prior requirements: An introductory meeting is always arranged free of charge to go over all the formalities. Contact the owner Julie directly here for more information.
2. Millie’s Paws Hydrotherapy and Daycare Centre
First opened as a dog grooming place, since 2014 Millie’s Paws has developed to provide a lot more to you and your pet. The owner Donna has been a trained and certified dog and cat groomer for a few years now, constantly broadening her offer of services. Apart from the standard spa treatments, brushing, styling, and daycare, Millie’s Paws now also includes hydrotherapy. In a specially built canine pool, dogs can be swimming and frolicking to their hearts’ content, with added health benefits. It’s something you won’t find at every daycare centre, so if your dog happens to be a water lover, this might be the perfect place!
The daycare costs £30 (full day) or £22 (half day). Hydrotherapy starts at £50 for the initial swim and consultation. Don’t hesitate to contact Donna for more specific information regarding all services.
Prior requirements: As the indoor daycare centre gets quite busy during the week, all dogs have to arrive with a name tag on, own collar and lead. The requirements for hydrotherapy and swimming are all listed here.
3. The Holidog Inn
Don’t be fooled by the name – The Holidog Inn is far from kennels and dog hotels and offers a real, homely boarding experience for your beloved pet. Aimed exclusively at small dogs, The Holidog is a private boarding and daycare centre, set up in the founders’ home, where the visiting dogs and their own can mingle and play together. Located on the outskirts of Coventry, the property and its surroundings are a large, private area for maximum safety and comfort. Services provided include short and long-term boarding (from one night only, up to a month if you’re finally going for that well-deserved holiday), daycare, as well as dog walking with a drop-off service when the fun is over.
You can find out more about pricing by ringing The Holidog Inn on 07989116332 or sending an email to misscarlyreid@hotmail.com.
Prior requirements: All owners, who want to book their dogs in for daycare or boarding at The Holidog Inn, need to make sure all vaccinations and worm treatments are up to date. That includes the kennel cough vaccine. Additionally, there’s always an initial meeting before making any decisions, where dogs can get the feel of the place and play with full-time residents.
4. Happy Hounds Coventry
All 9-5 workers know the pains of trying to secure some quality time with their dog everyday – whether it’s for a long walk in the woods or just some indoor playtime, there’s just not enough hours in the day. To those living in Coventry, the Happy Hounds daycare and dog walking services can be a real godsend. Run by a dog lover Emma, trusted and experienced in taking care of four-legged furry friends, it’s a place that provides love and care to your dog during your office hours. All rural dog walks are always photographed and posted on social media as updates for owners. Emma specialises in organising adventure walks in Coventry and Warwickshire, so you can be sure your dog will get to experience new, exciting places far from the city noise.
It costs £16 to book your pooch in for an adventure walk, and same for a half day care. The now also offered home boarding is priced at £28 per 24h. Worried owners can book in for a trial night to see how their pet deals with being in a new home.
Prior requirements: You can contact Emma directly here to discuss the services you require and necessary steps that need to be made before you bring your dog to Happy Hounds.
