Gourley Veterinary Surgeons was originally founded on Oldham Road, Ashton-under-Lyne back in 1953 by James Gourley. In 1974, Gourley, who was previously in a partnership with another surgeon, broke off and created his own vet surgery in 1974 on Wellington Road. In 1990, James Gourley retired and his son Michael, who was also a qualified veterinary surgeon, took over the business. In 2010, Michael Gourley also retired.
